Chekhov sitting on nest, Sailing Club
09:36 Woodpecker hammering in park next door. 09:36 Female mute swan (not a Chekhov) at galley window. 11:53 Coots raid and destroy moorhen’s nest in the lower branches of the pyracantha. 1 x egg dropped into water. One of the coots swan away with another egg.
Storm Ciara. Frame of solar hot water exchanger ripped from the roof. Managed to pull it from the water and store it on the front deck. Greenhouse sustained wind damage at the allotment.
Great crested grebes have started their courtship dance. Male very aggressive and chasing the ducks, coots and moorhens away from the area. Very vocal and almost growly.
